Tile Calculator
Rectangular tiles with grout gap; row×column grid from room L×W or area-only mode; waste %; boxes and cost from pack size.
Tile module pitch is (length + gap) × (width + gap). Grid uses ceiling counts on each axis; optional total-area mode divides area by module footprint.
Waste scales tile count before rounding up to whole boxes. Odd layouts and diagonals usually need more than the spreadsheet says.
Area to be tiled
Length × width of the surface, or enter a total area only (uses area ÷ tile module count — slightly different from a row/column grid).
If set, ignores L and W above and estimates tile count as ceiling(area ÷ (tile+gap)×(tile+gap)).
Tile requirements
Rectangular tiles. Gap is grout joint added to each tile module (l + g) × (w + g). Gap can be 0; negative values model overlap experiments per Omni.
Materials needed and cost
Grid: 14 × 10 modules (tile + gap).
